It’s so sad, the news of Whitney Houston’s untimely death. We can’t help but feel for her family at this rough time.
Never having met her, I can’t say I know her. However, growing up in the 80′s and 90′s, she was an incredible influence on many people, including me. I felt the “bond” only got closer as I realized she was living in the town where my first retail store was. My husband, having grown up there, helped at her wedding…I even made a delivery to her, but was promptly greeted at the gates by her guards and thus never did get to meet her in person.
So here it is, her funeral. As much as the fame and hype of all this is exciting, it’s humbling and touching to see the notes on our flower arrangements from Sir Elton John, the Jackson family, and others in their sincere words and sorrow for her loss. We, too, express our deepest sympathy–and want to thank you,Whitney, for touching our lives in the ways that you only could. We will always love you.
Another old post…but was looking at these pictures again for inspiration. Cannot wait until peony season starts again. What a great time we had at the Plaza. Despite crazy NYC load-ins, it was a great day! It felt good to be back in my old territory…
A simple, intimate wedding in the wine cellar at 90 Acres Restaurant at Natirar in Far Hills NJ. The pink flowers were a perfect tone setting color for this November wedding.

‘Tis the season for bridal shows! Here are a couple of bouquets we brought to some of our favorite shows: Bernards Inn, Maritime Parc, and Olde Mill Inn. It was great seeing some old friends/ vendors such as Marie Papp (photography), Eclipse Entertainment, Jennifer Kraft Events, My Bellissima Event planners, Chuck Russo, and so many others!

Here we go again! Wedding season usually starts a little more in the spring, but “spring” came early this year. My lucky bride had her January 7th wedding on a 50 degree+ day! What an amazing day! Congratulations Rosemary and Michael. May the good luck continue…

This was a great wedding! We had a very stylish bride who wanted clean, simplicity inside the W’s very chic ballroom. What a better way to dress it up than with masses of large, open calla lilies! It was a perfect venue, and this was the perfect look.
Looking back on this year, I can tell you we’ve done some pretty impressive things! One of the most interesting was setting up and breaking down a wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau during the hurricane this past August. Our hearts bled for the bride who’s guest count kept dwindling…but in the end, the show went on. It was a beautiful, candlelit evening with a beautiful bride and her party. Thank you
to Marcia for choosing us, Stacey Kallenberg of As You Wish Weddings, and all my patient staff and vendors who helped put the event together!

Ahh, the holidays! I’m awful at taking enough photos of all the fun stuff that we do. My crew of “elves” have been very busy this year.
Here’s a sample of some of the decor we do during the holidays.
Hard to believe Thanksgiving is almost here! Are you ready?
Here’s a basic check list of items that you might need to make your table simply fabulous:
Flowers, flowers, flowers! It doesn’t have to be a lot, but you should have a little something that accents the season and adds to the table conversation. Of course if you have a larger table, don’t be shy about using flowers to make a grand statement!
Linens: Be sure to dress your table with something special. You don’t need to have a lot of patterns or colors, but keep it simple; maybe monochromatic. Try a runner on top of a solid colored tablecloth. You might even do yet another colored napkin for a “pop” accent.
Candles: Tapers? Pillars? Votives? We have it all. Whatever you do, be sure to keep it functional first, decorative second. Don’t use pillar candles that block your sight line across the table. Be sure to protect your table with bobeches underneath your taper candles. Check out our new line of taper candles in every color under the sun!
Chargers: Try dressing up your plates by accenting them with a charger. We have square ones, round ones, gold, silvers, rattan, etc.
